Shipping
We ship orders out 1-2x a week. We have seen some delays in postal delivery, and have adjusted our carrier options to try to get you your package both as quickly and as economically as possible. Please note that apparel orders ship separately from a fulfillment center in Los Angeles, and have been experiencing intermittent fulfillment delays during the pandemic.
Flat rates are applied at checkout based on the total weight of your total order. We've put a lot of thought into a fair, affordable system of pricing for shipping, which isn't easy with products ranging from a baggy of nails to an oversize coaming box or a heavy order of ribs.
We’ve done our best, but sometimes the packages don’t fit the rates. If we overcharge you, we will refund any overages when your order is shipped. If you have questions about shipping or would like a custom quote in advance of placing your order, please email liz@capefalconkayaks.com

What should I expect?
You can see a shipping total in your cart during checkout before completing payment.
US Customers:
We ship via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground, at our discretion. Once shipped, delivery is approximately 2–4 business days, depending on your location. Expect to pay $10 for a small box of sinew or accessories, $15–25 for a package containing larger outfitting gear like backbands and footbraces, and $30 for a kit or coaming. If you are ordering up to 3 dye packs ONLY, we can toss those in the general post for $2 and save you some cash.
Canadian Customers:
Due to UPS’s nebulous Canada “convenience” fees, we have switched to shipping exclusively via US Postal Service Priority Mail. Delivery is approximately 6-10 business days from shipment. Expect to pay $30–40 USD for a small box of accessories, $45–55 for a package containing larger outfitting gear like backbands and footbraces, and $70 for a kit or coaming.
International Customers (except Canada):
We ship most international packages via UPS Worldwide Expedited, although we may substitute USPS Priority Mail or DHL at our discretion. Delivery is approximately 3–4 business days from shipment (6–10 for USPS Priority). Expect to pay $50 USD for a small box of accessories, $75 for a package containing larger outfitting gear like backbands and footbraces, and around $120 for a kit or coaming.
Remember that our shipping fees do not include any customs or VAT fees your country may require, which can total as much as 25% the package value when shipping to the EU. When in doubt, look up your country’s customs fees prior to purchase. Please note that due to VAT requirements following Brexit, we can only ship orders valued over $200 to the UK.

Order with a friend
Shipping a second kit in the same box adds minimal, if any shipping cost, so if you’re building with a friend, order together.
Skip the coaming
If you’re building overseas, the size of the box required by the coaming is what drives the price of the package. If you’re just buying smaller accessories but you’re getting hit with higher than expected shipping charges, please email liz@capefalconkayaks.com and we can give you a more accurate shipping estimate.
Shop local
We’re happy to support our builders overseas, but if we don’t have to send a roll of string across an ocean it’s better for both you and the planet. If you have questions about how to source different materials locally, please get in touch and we’ll try to help.
