SmartTrack Standard (Recreational) Footbraces
This well-built footbrace features a wide toe pad and easy adjustment mechanism that will not slip.
Unfortunately, because the toe pad is perpendicular to the track it sits a bit high when gunwale-mounted in our modern (F1, LPB) kayaks, so we usually pair these with a drop kit. Also, because the toe pad sticks out much farther than the pads on the Sea-Lect footbraces, sliding gear/float bags in and out of the bow can be challenging. For these reasons we typically do not use this style of footbrace in our modern kayaks, but if camping isn't a concern for you and you like this style, it is certainly an option.
These can be mounted in Greenland kayaks for an adjustable footbrace, however, they do consume some of the available length in the foot area, so this option usually doesn't work for people with long legs and big feet.
All SmartTrack footbraces can be easily retrofitted for rudder control. We also sell this foot brace as a rudder control package.
Includes the standard manufacturer hardware pack, and your choice of our two different skin-on-frame installation hardware options. We strongly prefer the T-nut and bolt install method, but these can be also be screwed to the gunwale if that works with your kayak.
You'll want to add our 1/4-20 stainless T-nuts to your purchase for a new frame install if screwing into the gunwale (if you do not have them already or are not getting them in another kit)
