Kayak Building Supplies Kit WITHOUT Coaming: F1 or LPB

Everything from our standard F1/LPB kayak building kit, minus the coaming. Perfect if you plan on building your own coaming (don't forget your ring nails!) or picking up one of our "seconds" coamings to save some $$.

In this kit we've tried to take care of some of the common road blocks so you can relax and focus on the building. We custom modify both the backband and footbraces without charging you extra and make key hardware substitutions. Having the toggles, straps, rub strips, and thigh braces on hand can be the difference between going paddling two days after you coat your kayak or waiting another two weeks! Ordering all these products from different suppliers individually, you'd not only have to buy more than you need, you'd have to pay for shipping again and again because almost nothing here is sold by the same supplier. Kit Options:

HDPE blanks vs. Pre-cut and rounded toggles and rub strips:
Our kits comes standard with toggle stock that are cut to length and chamfered on all 4 edges, leaving you to drill and round the ends, and rub strip blanks ready for rounding off and countersinking. Choose from ivory, white, or black HDPE. Or select Pre-drilled and Rounded toggles and rub strip for an extra $10, available in white HDPE only. Rub strip fasteners are included with both options.

Rear deck rigging: strap & toggles vs. bungee loops:
You have 2 choices for back deck rigging: leather straps and toggles, or bungee loops and hardware. Straps and toggles look more traditional, are stronger, and last longer. Bungee loops are less prone to leaks and allow you to use our kayak catamaran system if building 2 kayaks. Both systems work for a paddle float rescue.
